Planning your wedding music for the perfect reception in Orange
County

As a wedding DJ, my goal is to play all of your favorite songs to
a dance floor that is packed with your all friends at your wedding reception all night long.

I always make myself available to your guests for any song
request they might have. I have found that being a friendly DJ makes for a better rapport with your guests rather than one who knows everything. There have been times in the past where a guest has requested a song that is special to the guests in attendance that I would have had no idea. I keep my eyes open and my ears listening.
I will rotate the songs that you have marked as your favorite for your reception so that we don't burn-out the dance floor with too much of the same kind of music early on in the evening. There are groups of songs that just go well together like:
- Old Time Rock and Roll, Pretty Woman, Tequila, Twist and Shout, Wooly Bully, Satisfaction
- Brick House, Play that Funky Music White Boy
- September, Don't Stop 'till You Get Enough
- Livin' On A Prayer, Welcome to the Jungle, Jump, Pour Some Sugar On Me
If you select some of these songs and your guests are loving it, I probably will through in some of the popular songs that go with it.
My assumption as your wedding DJ is this, you know your favorite songs and you expect me to know how to mix them. If I add to that my experience at reading the dance floor and knowing when it is time for a change along with being available to your guests for their song requests; I'm normally able to wear out all of your guests by the end of the night.
Let me make a comment about the volume of the music. I am very intentional about the levels I pick, I've found if it is loud enough to enable your guests to still hear each other without yelling at the top of their lungs then it's working. Nobody wants ear splitting levels of music, but it needs to reach a level that puts energy into the dance floor. If we have been cranking it for a while and it's time for a slow song, At Last, What A Wonderful World, Always and Forever, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me, I've Got You Under My Skin, or Let's Get It On that if I bring the level down a little it intensifies the mood.
And that is a perfect set-up bring the volume up for the party stuff once everyone has cooled down. Having been a drummer for 30 years, I understand dance floor dynamics. And while my role as your Emcee, DJ and Coordinator is more than just music, guests seem to judge a wedding reception by how crazy the dance floor was. Believe me, I want your dance floor crazy!
And for those of you who aren't looking for rock concert or club volume levels, I'm experienced enough to know where the volume control is and I can turn it in both directions. With me as your DJ, you will get your music at your volume.
One last and incredibly important component for a packed dance floor, lighting. A dark room with no dance floor lighting is like a table without a centerpiece. Unfortunately, most people under estimate the value and power in professional wedding reception lighting. If only I could get the bridal web sites and magazines to talk about the value of great lighting instead of aged cheeses for hors'douvers. Let's work together to give your guests as dance floor that has the right amount of crazy and class with the right kind of lighting.

Art the DJ
Not only did he have people on the dance floor throughout the entire reception
he even catered to all our needs for the ceremony as well. Thanks for
the great work and making our special day even more memorable than we
could imagine. I would and will refer Art and his mobile DJ service to
anyone who is having any type of special occasion as I know he puts out
110% throughout the entire evening. Once again thanks.

Hi Art!
Thanks so much for the great reception! Kathleen and I are just back from
the honeymoon and settling in.
We had so many compliments from the guests about the reception, including
all the aunts and uncles who we thought would be hardest to impress! Your
selection of tunes kept the dance floor hopping even though it was hot
as an oven up there! And your skills as a reception MC gave a smooth flow
to all the rituals like the garter toss and cake cutting and on and on!
Thanks again for a wonderful wedding reception!

Art,
You and your wife did a wonderful job entertaining the friends and family
at the reception. I'm pleased to hear that people were still dancing till
the end. Heather and I had a great day on Saturday and couldn't ask for
anything more.
